Maria, royal virgin,
Born of the offspring of David,
Not so well-known by her father
As by the merit of her child.
2.
You having torn away the old from us
Make (us) even with new offshoots;
Through you may a race of men
be a royal priesthood.

Let there be praise to you, Oh most high.
